BOULEVARD OF DREAMS by Zig Gron

A brief history of Henry Gaylord Wilshire, the man behind the Boulevard that bears his name.

Zig Gron grew up in Detroit, studied music and film in Michigan and California, and works as an independent video artist and music editor in LA. His work has been screened at the Pacific Film Archives in Berkeley, the Dallas Video Festival, the Charlotte Film and Video Festival (Jurors’ Award), and solo shows in New York at The Millennium and The Knitting Factory. He has acted in a George Kuchar video, studied film with James Benning and performance art with Karen Finley.

  For Out the Window, short video portraits of places will be presented in the unusual context of the Los Angeles County Metro bus system, during spring and summer 2011. By sharing perspectives from individual households and neighborhoods to the city and region at large, Out the Window creates a mosaic of the many social, cultural, economic and creative layers of a complex American city.
