An interdisciplinary work at the intersection of performance, urban renewal, and community engagement, the EXPULSION SERIES transforms vacant lots throughout LA with community public art.

Heidi Duckler is the Artistic Director and founder of Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre. Since the company’s inception in 1985, she has choreographed more than 100 original site-specific dance works at unique sites throughout Los Angeles including City Hall, the Herald Examiner Building, and the former Ambassador Hotel, as well as national and international sites in New York, Seattle, Portland, Miami, Las Vegas, Russia, and Hong Kong.

  For Out the Window, short video portraits of places will be presented in the unusual context of the Los Angeles County Metro bus system, during spring and summer 2011. By sharing perspectives from individual households and neighborhoods to the city and region at large, Out the Window creates a mosaic of the many social, cultural, economic and creative layers of a complex American city.
